Hand-held viewers are the least expensive type of 3D glasses that we manufacture. Any of our 3D filters can be used in hand-held viewers. Hand-held viewers are also a great way to save money and labor when the viewers are used for insertion into envelopes for direct mail campaigns or children's premium items, as well as when the viewer requires polybagging. Although hand-held viewers can be made in any quantity, they are typically used for promotions that require large quantities of glasses at the least expensive price.
American Paper Optics specializes in bind-in 3D glasses applications. Typically, this is a large run 3D application that requires a bindery, newspaper, or magazine to have the glasses "bound-in" to the publication. Nearly all bind-in applications have several key elements that effect the process of inserting the glasses. Size of the sheet, weight of the board, ease of the detachment of the viewer, and "machineability" of the carrier are just a few of the important factors to review and test for bind-in 3D glasses. We will work closely with your bindery or plant manager to assure that the glasses will meet the specifications required for easy bindery into the publication.
In 1998, we manufactured over 20,000,000 3D viewers for insertion into over 10,000,000 issues of the National Geographic magazine's August issue. Months of testing and careful planning paid off as we designed the perfect 3D viewers for easy insertion at their printing plant. Coupled with that experience, as well as the dozens of other newspapers, magazines, and book publishers we have worked with, makes American Paper Optics the expert choice for 3D bind-in applications.
